I'll see if I can rustle up a picture of him somewhere.

Hey everyone,

Been out of it a bit the last week or so. I am glad to see that more and more folks are planning on coming. I am looking forward to getting away and having some fun.

We plan on camping. The Horse Thief campsite sounds good to me. Nice a quite and not too bad of a drive outside of town.

I plan on taking the day off Friday so I will be probably head down early. If anyone else is leaving around this time let me know, perhaps we can convoy!

I look forward to meeting everyone one.

I plan on hitting the road between 10 AM and noon on Friday. We have one vote for Horse Thief campground and there is the camping spot Brett mentioned. What does everyone else say?

I'm down for either. It would be nice to all camp together. afro

The caves that I mentioned are a ways down Kane Creek. It's not a developed site, but it is fine to camp there. There are also some established camp grounds down Kane Creek as well. They aren't so far in. I haven't been to horse thief, but Kane Creek has a lot of trees, which will be nice because it will still be fairly warm.

I don't think I originally mentioned Horse Thief but I'll plan on it. So far it is me and my daughter, my pops might show up but he's taking his razor down to look for Indian sites so he might not ride the trails with me anyway.

Also I have Friday off and was planning on leaving somewhat early and get the most of the weekend. I'd be down to scoop people up and make it a caravan.

Last trip down my wife and I left Cache valley at 9:00a.m., checked into the Super 8, drove top of the world, ate at the brewery, slept, drove hell's revenge, ate Ice Cream, and were back in Cache valley by 6:00ish well-rested.

EDIT: Change of plans: my wife's family scheduled their annual Bear Lake trip the same weekend and I just realized I'm double booked.
My new plan: Thurs-Friday at Bear Lake leaving around 2:00-3:00 on Friday (It's always windy on the lake after lunch so we always come in anyway) and driving straight to Moab.
My wife is off the weekend and debating coming with me. In 8 years of marriage she has never camped though...
My little brother might make it with me.

I'm down for a caravan. I'm planning on leaving fairly early on Friday myself. afro

So what time should we be expecting you Brett? That sounds like a long day.

As the weather is getting colder we are less and less excited about Bear Lake, the water is freezing even in the dead of summer. (Maybe I can do a Thurs. appearance at the lake and then bail... good luck with that right?) If I DO wakeboard my spaghetti arms will be hurting for the rest of the weekend.

It is 6 hours and 5 min from Garden City to Moab (if I don't hit any traffic and obey traffic laws) so I can leave as late as 4 and still get in to Moab by 10:00ish.

My wife is not too stoked on Moab right now so it's looking more and more like me, my dog and maybe my bro.

This weekend I'm rigging up my sleeping arrangement. I might build a little platform in the back to sleep on??? I'll go look for my tent too. I would sleep out under the stars except.... scorpions. affraid

Okay I'm getting Moab weekend more dialed in.

My brother is in, my wife and daughter are out.
Might still be going to Bear Lake Thurs-Friday morning but the cold weather is putting a damper on that trip so I might be able to leave earlier on Friday.
I've still gotta get my camping gear together though. I meant to get more done today but ended up wrenching on my truck a bit.

Unfortunately I'am having to bail on the Moab run due to unforseen circumstances, not a happy camper at this moment. Hope you all have a good time and will try to make the next one.

Hey everyone,

OK, it has been a crazy past few days but I am ready to focus on priorities now, Moab! Very Happy

It looks like me and my two sons are coming along. Haven't done much packing or getting ready yet but will start that tonight. We are still planning on leaving Friday, I just don't know what time yet. It depends on my sons and when they can get away from school.

Does it make sense to make a list of who is in for the trip? If so, maybe I can start it here and update it as everyone confirms???

And, what have we decided on for the camping area? It would be very cool if we could get everyone in the same place.

I think it would als be nice to find out when everyone is leaving so perhaps those that are going to be there early enough might be able to get a run in Friday afternoon/evening.

I look forward to meeting everyone!

So I'll start.

Kyle, Parker and Hayden - Leaving Friday as early as possible, latest at 2:30
Brad and Paige, leaving friday morning around 10am
Big Ern - Leaving around 10:00 a.m. on Friday
Brett, Jeff, and maybe Braden (Nephew) Planning on leaving Ogden at 11:30ish (As soon as Braden gets out of school) on Friday
FJ Jorgy and friends - Positive thinking!
